Travelport has unveiled its ticket re-pricing technology Rapid Reprice in the UK and Ireland.
The technology was developed by global distribution service (GDS) Worldspan, which was brought together with Galileo to form Travelport. Rapid Reprice automatically presents a new fare, cutting the time taken to re-price and re-issue flight tickets to one to five minutes. The process can take up to 25 minutes manually.
The new fare takes into account all applicable rules, taxes, refunds, penalties and administrative fees, and the technology can process up to nine passengers within a single booking file. Re-pricing can be performed during a journey as well as before departure.
Travelport also announced this week that it had reached a full-content agreement with Finnair, giving access to the Finnish carrier’s entire inventory and fares.
