All-inclusive review: Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort and Spa

Where is it? Grace Bay Beach, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, just 15 minutes from the airport.

What’s it like? This 663-room family-orientated beachside resort is a trio of villages with a range of activities and 16 eateries.

The third Italian village opened in May, which features the Pirate’s Island water park, a surf simulator, nightclub, Scratch DJ music academy, and Xbox gaming garage. The concierge suites and butler suites have whirlpool baths, plasma TVs, an Xbox, and fridges with drinks and snacks that are replaced daily.

Children are treated like mini adults, with their own swim-up soft-drinks bar and self-serve restaurant areas, plus age-specific clubs offering activities that extend into the evening, when they have their own disco. Parents can benefit from some adult-only restaurants while the children play.

Activities include a water park, fitness suite, sauna, steam room and plunge pools, snorkelling, canoeing/kayaking, windsurfing, scuba-diving, sail boat, Hobie Cats, tennis (including lessons), table tennis, croquet, beach volleyball, lawn chess and billiards.

Paid-for options include spa treatments, fitness lessons, scuba diving lessons, trips, internet usage, and babysitters.

We liked: The large heated pool with swim-up bar, inflatables, and whirlpool tub. We also liked the à la carte restaurants, especially the sushi restaurant.

We didn’t like: The water park is advertised as having nine slides, but bigger kids (like me!) are limited to just three of the larger ones.

Sell it to: This is undoubtedly a place to recommend to families, and offers entertainment for all ages, as well as family-styled weddings.

Verdict: With water sports, weddings, wine and fine dining, there is something to please the most discerning guest.

Sample product: British Airways Holidays has seven nights at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages and Spa from £5,135 for a family of four, travelling between September 6 and October 11.

The price is for a Turquoise Deluxe room in the Caribbean Village, based on two adults and two children, aged three to 11 years old. It includes British Airways World Traveller flights from Heathrow, and transfers. beachesresorts.co.uk, 0800 597 0001
