Funway Holidays has been taken over by US-based Apple Leisure Group for an undisclosed sum.
ALG runs travel, hospitality and leisure management interests including tour operations, travel distribution and associated technology business Trisept Solutions.
The group’s brands include Apple Vacations, Funjet Vacations, Travel Impressions, Southwest Airlines Vacations, United Vacations among others.
ALG’s AMResorts is a fast growing all-inclusive luxury brand management company with brands including Zoetry Wellness & Spas Resorts, Secrets Resorts & Spas, Dreams Resorts & Spas, Breathless Resorts & Spas and others with 55 properties across Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and soon Spain.
It also runs destination management company Amstar, supporting the locations.
Funway Holidays joins these brands within ALG in a “complementary role” as a companion company to London-based tour operation Travel Impressions International.
Funway managing director Melissa Tilling will report to Travel Impressions president Scott Wiseman along with Travel Impressions vice president Carla van der Giesen.
