Hurtigruten offers free flights on winter programme

Hurtigruten is offering free flights on round-trip coastal voyages departing between October and December.

It is the first time the cruiseline has offered free flights on its winter programme. They are available on selected 12-day Classic Round Voyages from Bergen to Kirkenes and back, along with two free excursions. Bookings have to be made by August 31.

Hurtigruten sales and marketing director Kathryn Beadle said the free flights offer is a repeat of a similar summer promotion that was very successful.

She said: “This offer will give agents something extra special to promote over the coming weeks. We have also included dates that cover Christmas and new year so if people book early they will get an amazing deal at this peak time.”

The lead in price for the cruise is £957 per person including all meals, free flights and transfers. There are no single supplements on any of the departures.

Free excursions include a trip to the North Cape (normally £69 per person) where passengers can cross the 71st parallel, the northernmost point on the European Continent, and a Taste of the Vesteralen (normally £49 per person), which visits Vesteralen island.

The cruiseline has also seen a jump in enquiries for its Antarctic voyages fuelled by BBC2’s On Thin Ice, starring Ben Fogle and James Cracknell.
