Leeds Metropolitan University has awarded Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT) chairman Steven Freudmann an honorary degree.
Freudmann received his honorary doctorate in business administration from the university’s international faculty. It follows the creation of a formal partnership between ITT and Leeds Metropolitan University.
Professor Rhodri Thomas, ITT chairman of tourism and events policy at the university, said: “The university was delighted to honour Steven in this way as a mark of his contribution to professionalising the sector and, more specifically, to creating stronger links between universities and industry.
“He has consistently emphasised the benefits of collaboration and enabled new ways of working together at all levels, from creating opportunities for knowledge exchange between practitioners and academics, to celebrating doctoral and post-doctoral research that helps understand the sector more effectively.”
