Aussie Specialist Programme agents will fly with Singapore Airlines to the annual Corroboree West training and familiarisation event next year.
SIA has been confirmed as official European airline partner by Tourism Australia for the gathering in Perth in October 2019
A total of 300 specially selected frontline travel sellers from the UK, Europe, the US, Canada and New Zealand will meet with more than 100 Australian tourism operators on October 9-11 in partnership with Tourism Western Australia.
This will be the third time Tourism Australia has partnered with SIA for Corroboree West event.
Aussie Specialists will then break up into groups to attend five-day familiarisation trips around the country hosted by Australia’s state and territory tourism organisations.
Details of how to register for Corroboree West 2019 will be announced early next year.
Tourism Australia managing director John O’Sullivan said: “Corroboree is a great opportunity for Aussie Specialists to see first-hand a range of extraordinary travel experiences and the professionalism, creativity and innovation of Australia’s tourism operators.
“We want these frontline travel sellers from our priority western markets to be fully equipped to sell fantastic Australian holidays to their customers.”
Tourism WA managing director Brodie Carr said: “A lot has changed in Perth over the past few years. This event will give us the chance to highlight the city’s transformation, including Optus Stadium, Elizabeth Quay, Yagan Square, the growing bar and restaurant scene and our new and refurbished hotels.”
SIA Europe regional vice president Subhas Menon added: “As Australia’s most frequent visitor, the Singapore Airlines group not only flies over 150 times a week to nine cities throughout the country but also operates many of our newest aircraft and products on those routes too.
“We believe it to be a perfect partnership as a result and look forward to welcoming all our valued travel partners on board for Corroboree West 2019.”
