Barrhead Travel will expand its cruise sector in 2019 after reporting “double-digit” growth.
The Glasgow-based agency, which has 73 locations throughout the UK, said its luxury and river cruise market has grown at a rapid pace this year, reporting “unprecedented demand” and “growing innovation” within the sector.
Ahead of its annual supplier conference at Ayrshire’s Trump Turnberry Resort, which begins this Friday, the Scottish-headquartered agency chain announced plans to expand its supplier relations teams to bolster its position in the cruise market.
More staff for the cruise division have been recruited, and Barrhead promised further appointments and expansion over the next 12 months.
Catriona Parsons, cruise director for Barrhead Travel, said: “Cruise is without a doubt one of the travel styles that has exponential potential for further growth in the coming years. Exciting times lie ahead as we refocus our cruise growth strategy to mirror the opportunities to innovate in the cruise sector.”
