Vision Cruise has created a voice command with Amazon’s personal assistant Alexa which allows customers to watch the agency’s TV channel without lifting a finger.
Viewers with an Amazon Fire TV stick, Amazon Echo Show or Echo Spot can access Vision Cruise’s deals by saying the words: “Play Vision Cruise TV”.
The Liverpool-based agency claims to be the first cruise company in the UK to launch such a command, known as an Alexa Skill.
John Cooper, Vision Cruise’s brand director, said: “This is just the first of many initiatives we have lined up to bring our cruise TV offerings to a much wider audience.
“People are changing the way they watch TV, and this is about keeping up-to-date with people’s lifestyles and attracting a younger and new to cruise demographic.”
From November 23 – Black Friday – to Monday November 26, any Vision Cruise customer who books a cruise lasting seven-nights or more will be sent an Amazon Fire Stick, which will allow them to watch Vision Cruise TV, by the agency.
Vision Cruise airs three programmes – Cruise Today, Bargains of the Week and Best Value Cruise Hour – on Sky 191, plus 15-minute shorts on its on-demand platforms each week.
Customers can also watch the agency’s programmes Facebook Live every night from 5pm and on YouTube 24 hours a day.
Andrew Runacres, Vision Cruise managing director, said: “TV pictures tell and sell a story of just what great value a cruise holiday is, enticing new to cruise customers to try this type of holiday for the first time, as we know, once they start to cruise, they usually never stop.”
