A backlash has seen the Russians knocked off the top spot in a poll of the worst tourists to meet overseas.
Holiday consumer review site realholidayreports.com owner Gary Hewitt said until yesterday, the Russians had topped the poll thanks to their fashion faux pas, rudeness, terrible table manners and even hiding sunloungers in their rooms overnight.
However, he believes a Russian news report has led to a spate of tactical voting against Brits, leaving the Germans now at the top of the poll with 30%, the Brits in second place on 24%, while the Russians are in fourth position with 19%, behind the French.
Hewitt said: “We think there’s been a backlash, although we thought the Germans would win.”
