Cheaper mobile calls for WTM 2009

World Travel Market (WTM) has partnered with telecoms provider Bruin Communications to offer visitors and exhibitors to WTM in November cheaper mobile phone usage with a global roaming SIM.

The SaverSIM. service, which can be used before, during and after the show, will provide: low fixed-rate calls of 24p including VAT, to any landline or mobile in the EU; free inbound calls while in the UK and in 62 countries; free message retrieval and SMS alerts for voicemail worldwide; and reduced call charges from the UK to international destinations. Inbound texts worldwide are free and text messages in Europe cost about 10p.

The charges compare favourably with UK mobile operators’ standard charges, which, on average, are 19p/minute for inbound calls; 38p/minute for outbound calls to Europe; and 38p/minute for voicemail retrieval.

The SaverSIM service offers free daily access, free itemised real-time billing and a helpdesk telephone number with extended opening hours before and during the show. There are also no call connection charges. Each user is allocated an individual +44 phone number, which can be used in 200 countries.

WTM exhibition director Craig Moyes said: “WTM is delighted to be working with SaverSIM to offer visitors significant savings on their mobile phone bills. The service will be useful for WTM’s thousands of overseas visitors.”

The service is available as a prepaid SIM, starting with a £20 option for smaller businesses or individuals. Larger businesses can opt for a 24-hour online top-up facility, which is post-paid. To sign up, follow the link on the World Travel Market website or visit www.saversim.com
