A number of Mexican destinations are being opened up to UK travellers through a new codeshare between Virgin Atlantic and Aeromexico.
The deal allows for seamless connections to points including Mexico City, Cancun and Guadalajara.
Travellers booking with the UK carrier are now able to select flights direct from Heathrow to Mexico City, or seamless connections via New York JFK, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Orlando.
New route combinations include;
· Heathrow to Mexico City, direct with Aeromexico
· Mexico City onward to a selection of domestic Mexican destinations
· Heathrow to Los Angeles or Atlanta with Virgin Atlantic, with onward connections to Leon, Guadalajara and Monterrey
Customers booking the new codeshare routes will connect between both airlines with a single booking reference and check in.
The deal with Aeromexico complements existing connections on offer with US partner Delta Air Lines.
Virgin Atlantic chief commercial officer Shai Weiss said: “This new partnership complements the existing connections our partner Delta offers and provides even more Mexican destinations for our customers. Not only this, but travellers will experience the ease and convenience of booking through a codeshare.”
The Mexican carrier’s chief revenue officer Anko van der Werff added: “This codeshare clearly reflects our mission to keep striving in order to offer our passengers a better connectivity with the best partners.
“We are certain this alliance will strengthen not only our network but will also propel cultural, business and tourism ties between Mexico and the United Kingdom.”
