Shearings has made several new senior appointments to help lead its growing commercial team and launch its 2010 brochures.
The Wigan-based firm has appointed Chris Barker as marketing manager, with responsibilities including trade, PR and online. The firm’s business development manager, Michael Bowers, has been made sales manager.
The company has also appointed three new commercial managers to develop the existing programmes.
Matthew Herbert is now UK holidays manager. With 13 years’ experience in travel, his focus is to increase Shearings passenger carryings from the UK and Ireland by offering a larger variety of tours and increasing relations with third-party hotels.
Sophie Cann is the Europe holidays manager, a role which will focus on maintaining Shearings’ reputation as an escorted tour operator.
Patricia Birmingham joins as product development manager, with responsibility for commercial management of Shearings’ product development, including its river cruise programme, sea cruising, rail, air and worldwide development.
All new appointments will report to commercial director Caroline Brown.
