Agents specialising in upmarket holidays have been invited to the next luxury travel event organised by Connections, the global networking company.
Taking place in the Gran Hotel Miramar, Malaga (February 17-20), the event will be jointly hosted by Costa del Sol Tourist Board, Malaga Convention Bureau and Andalusia Tourist Board.
Connections has invited suppliers from the luxury sector to meet buyers during the event, which will include one-to-one meetings and networking activities such as flamenco dance workshops, olive oil tasting and paella making.
There will be a session with Fflur Roberts, head of global luxury goods at research specialist Euromonitor International, who will host a discussion of key topics and present research about the luxury sector.
The destinations’ investment shows their commitment to place “Malaga firmly on the map as a highly sought-after luxury tourism destination”, according to Connections.
Renée Kachler, business development director at the Costa del Sol Tourist Board, said: “We are very keen to further drive the interest of Costa del Sol amongst luxury travellers as we have so much to offer in this region.”
Micaela Giacobbe (pictured), founder and director of Connections, added: “Spain has an enormous amount of potential when it comes to the luxury travel market and we are really excited about working with such a fantastic team in Malaga to deliver this event.”
A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, Gran Hotel Miramar has been restored following a two-year, €65 million refurbishment project.
Connections is part of the Jacobs Media Group, along with Travel Weekly and other tourism and hospitality brands.
