Four Seasons to open hotel in Beirut

Four Seasons is to open its first Lebanese property in Beirut in December, with 230 rooms and suites.

The hotel will feature a glass-enclosed, rooftop swimming pool that will become a lounge and tapas bar in the evening.

The interior has been designed by French architect and interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon, who worked on the George V Hotel in Paris. Located on Beirut’s Corniche seaside promenade, the hotel’s 230 rooms and suites will have views across the city, the Mediterranean and surrounding mountains.

Launching the hotel at the Four Seasons Canary Wharf last night, general manager Stefan Simkovics said: “As soon as guests are welcomed to the Four Seasons Hotel Beirut, they’ll be encouraged to step out and enjoy the sea air, sunset Mediterranean views and the sites and sounds of this cosmopolitan city.

“As the warmer weather arrives next May, Four Seasons will unveil a rooftop scene destined to be the talk of Beirut’s summer season.”

Director of marketing Huda Malhas added: “Beirut is an exciting city that’s becoming more popular with leisure as well as business travellers.”

The hotel will also offer a Mediterranean-style steak and seafood restaurant, full-service spa and meeting rooms.
