Karen Dempsey to leave Travel Weekly Group

Karen Dempsey, group editor of the Travel Weekly Group – which in August was acquired from Reed Business Information (RBI) – is leaving the business in November.

Clive Jacobs, chairman of the newly formed TWgroup – and founder of Holiday Autos – said this week: “Karen had only recently rejoined RBI when it was announced that we were buying the business.

“We persuaded her to stay until we moved into our new premises in Victoria, in late November. I am grateful for her hard work during this time in helping us manage the transition of her team and the market-leading Travel Weekly into independent ownership. I wish her all the very best for the next step in her career.”

Simon Ferguson, chief executive of TWgroup, added: “Karen has been a real professional, helping us to establish the new company and driving the business forward. She is an experienced B2B editor and I wish her every success in her next role.”

Karen Dempsey added: “I’ve enjoyed my time with TWgroup, and I’ve been very happy to stay on to help Clive, Simon and the team get everything settled. I wish them all the very best in creating an exciting, travel-focused company.”

TWgroup said it expects to make an announcement about Karen’s successor in the near future.
