Travelbag’s Anna Perrott scooped the UK Cruise Awards’ shining star award last night.
Perrott, who is head of cruise at the tailor-made operator, was recognised for her outstanding contribution of an individual within the travel industry.
More than 200 travel agents attended the awards in central London hosted by sales teams and executives from six Carnival brands: Carnival Cruise Line, Cunard, Holland America Line, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Seabourn.
Each line gave out two awards to agency partners: for partnership development and an outstanding contribution.
Speaking to Travel Weekly after receiving her award, Perrott said: “Cruising is my life.
“I love the industry and where it is going. I think cruise can be bigger part of the industry going forward.”
The final award of the evening, the Carnival UK Trade Partner of the Year, was given by P&O Cruises chief executive Paul Ludlow to the Iglu Cruise team.
Simone Clarke, Iglu Cruises’ senior vice president of global supply, collected the award.
She said: “We work very closely with each of the brands. We have been selling cruise for the 15 years I have been at Iglu.
“There is a lot of competition out there. But we have found a way to work with each of the individual brands.”
