Former Travelzest boss Chris Mottershead is to return to work with TUI Travel.
Negotiations for a return of the chief executive to the operator were held earlier this year but were shelved in April when he was accused of “potential misappropriation of company funds”.
However, following his complete exoneration, it has been announced that Mottershead will join TUI Travel’s Canadian business on January 1.
He will serve as interim chief financial officer and integration director of a new enlarged Canadian operator Sunwing, following the combining of its operations with TUI’s in Canada. Mottershead will report to the current Sunwing chief executive Stephen Hunter.
Mottershead returns to the travel giant after quitting in 2004 following two and a half years’ service. He was replaced as TUI UK managing director by Peter Rothwell.
