BA cabin crew meet today over strike plans

British Airways (BA) cabin crew are attending a meeting in Sandown Park, Surrey, today to discuss a strike ballot.

Staff have been furious following plans to cut 1,700 full-time cabin crew positions at Heathrow, so reducing the number of attendants on long-haul flights from 15 to 14.

It also imposed a two-year pay freeze and changes in working practices.

Unite, the union, has also revealed it is to take legal action to stop BA imposing contractual changes on 14,000 cabin crew without agreement. A High Court hearing is set for November 5.
