ABTA is to lobby destinations at World Travel Market (WTM) about the latest Air Passenger Duty (APD) hikes.
Before he officially starts in his position at ABTA as head of public affairs, Luke Pollard will join the association’s trade relations manager Susan Parsons, and the destination strategy and services team, to talk to representatives of destinations including South Africa, Kenya and the Caribbean Tourism Organisation.
More than 30 meetings have been set up with ministers of tourism and tourist board directors during WTM.
Federation of Tour Operators – now part of ABTA – has scheduled a similar programme of meetings every year to discuss key destination issues and concerns.
