TTA Worldchoice launches software to monitor ATOL bookings

TTA Worldchoice has launched a new software package for members called Angel, which will help them stay within ATOL regulations.

The new system, unveiled at the TTA Worldchoice annual conference today, will inform the agent whether they need an ATOL for a booking and help them insure against the risks of non-packaged travel arrangements.

TTA Worldchoice director of membership Helen Burgess said: “Most agents don’t have a simple, effective way to understand what risk they have.”

The system, will also allow agents to monitor their financial exposure to suppliers, provide a link to purchase failure insurance and be sent an email alert when their pre-set level of ATOL exposure to a supplier is reached.

For agents who have their own small business ATOL, Angel will allow them to advise whether a booking should be covered under their ATOL, calculate the agent’s Civil Aviation Authority annual ATOL return  and monitor ATOL passenger numbers.

TTA Worldchoice managing director Simon Hargreaves said: “It is a huge worry for any travel agent to know whether or not a holiday arrangement needs to be covered by an ATOL.  Angel will automatically indicate if a booking should be covered by ATOL.”

The software is free to members.
