The Hellenic Tourism Organisation is making preparations to host around 3,000 delegates for the 2000 ABTA Convention in Kos.
UK director Panos Argyros said he expected the destination would benefit from this year’s convention being held in a long-haul venue – Cairns in Australia.
“Kos is easily accessible from the UK and the prices we are negotiating will be excellent. Those who don’t travel to Australia will, I believe, go to Kos next year – particularly as it is the first conference of the new millennium,” he said.
Approximately 1,640 delegates have signed up for the Cairns convention which is being held between November 26 and 29.
