NCL extends training scheme for travel agents

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has added a seventh course to its NCLU training programme.

Called “How to sell NCL”, it gives agents advice on how to identify customer needs and match those needs to the right ship. It also highlights the benefits of NCL’s Freestyle Cruising.

The launch of the new course coincides with NCLU’s first birthday this month. Since it went online on December 1 2008, more than 3,000 agents have signed up, said NCL UK general manager Stephen Park.

He said: “The last six courses focused on building agents’ product knowledge about NCL and Freestyle Cruising. Now we need to turn this knowledge into tangible business results – sales and commission over the key ‘wave’ selling period.”

The ‘wave’ period launches on December 15 and runs until February 28 2010.

All agents who pass the seventh course and sell an NCL cruise by February 28 2010 will be entered in a prize draw to win a seven-night Caribbean cruise on NCL’s new ship Norwegian Epic, launching in July next year.

For each cruise they sell before the closing date, they will be entered again into the draw, thereby giving them more chances of winning.
