Gibson’s fate to be decided by ITT board

INSTITUTE of Travel and Tourism board members are meeting today to consider the future of chief executive Linda Gibson after an employment tribunal found her guilty of racial discrimination.

Gibson was suspended on full pay at the end of September.

Bedford employment tribunal found in favour of former ITT employee Gina Superville after she brought a racial discrimination case against Gibson (Travel Weekly October 4).

Superville told the tribunal that Gibson had refused to give her a full-time contract because she was black.

Sources said the ITTmanagement committee asked Gibson to resign but she refused and it was decided to have lawyers represent both sides at a further hearing.

A meeting was scheduled for October 14 but was postponed after Gibson complained she was not well.
