Celebrity cuts the cost of balcony cabins

Celebrity Cruises is offering free upgrades from oceanview to balcony cabins on selected sailings for bookings made before the end of February.

During the Wave period, the traditional busiest time for booking ending on February 28, the cruiseline is also offering discounts of up to £400 per cabin and up to $200 per stateroom on-board credit, also on selected cruises.

The offers are being backed by an extensive trade campaign that includes advertising, mailings and e-shots to raise agents’ awareness of Celebrity’s new ships, special offers and itineraries.

The cruiseline is also giving away 100 prizes a week highlighting its Celebrity Life enrichment programme to agents who book a Celebrity Cruise online before February 28.

The same agents will also be entered automatically in a competition to win a cruise for two on new ship Celebrity Eclipse in 2010, which will be based in Southampton when it launches in April.

Celebrity Cruises associate vice-president UK and Ireland Jo Rzymowska said 2009 has been an exciting year for the cruiseline and 2010 promises to be equally good with the home-porting of Celebrity Eclipse in the UK for summer.

She said: “The Solstice-class ships have received positive feedback from all our guests and trade partners.  So much so, that our bookings for 2010 on Celebrity Eclipse are extremely strong.”
