Eurostar to resume services tomorrow

Eurostar has announced it is to resume services tomorrow (Tuesday) after three days of delays and cancellations.

The company will operate two-thirds of services for around 26,000 people.

A statement on the website said a series of test-runs had been conducted safely this morning, and if the rest work well this afternoon the service will start back tommorrow.

Thousands of people leaving London and Paris for the Christmas getaway had their travel plans disrupted over the weekend when trains broke down on the tracks and services were suspended. An independent review has been ordered to investigate what went wrong.

The company is offering travellers who suffered major delays on their train services £150 compensation per passenger in addition to a refund on their tickets and a free return ticket.
