Planning permission has been granted to create one central headquarters for staff at Fred Olsen, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines and Fred. Olsen Travel at a cost of £10 million.
Work to extend Fred Olsen House in Ipswich, Suffolk, is due to start next month.
The three-storey extension will more than double the size of the building to 32,000 sq ft, allowing all the company’s staff to be centralised in one building.
The building is scheduled to be completed in summer 2020. Work on the refurbishment of the existing building will than start, with final completion due by the end of next year.
Land to the rear of the extension site has been purchased to create additional staff car parking.
A company statement said: “This is a significant development costing approximately £10 million and demonstrates the commitment from the owners, both to our businesses and the local area, and gives us the facilities to allow us to grow.”
