Cruise & Maritime Voyages launches 2010/2011 winter preview

Cruise & Maritime Voyages is offering cruises to the Caribbean and Canary Islands for Christmas 2010.

The cruises feature in a winter preview in the new summer brochure launched as the fledgling cruise line, created in August 2009, reported it had sold almost half of its 2010 capacity by December.

It is offering no-fly cruises from the UK on Marco Polo from Tilbury from January, and Ocean Countess, which joins the cruise line in April 2010.

Sales and marketing director Chris Coates said demand for the two ships has forced the cruise line to move to larger offices in Dartford, Kent. It will be moving after Christmas but email and telephone details will not be changed.

Coates said: “Since the launch of Cruise and Maritime Voyages, our business has more than doubled and we have outgrown our existing premises.

“We have had unprecedented demand for cruising out of the UK. This year looks set to be good as we are meeting the needs of all those wanting a traditional cruising experience.”

He added: “The popularity has been such that it has prompted us to give details for 2011 early than planned.”

For winter 2010/11, Marco Polo will be sailing a three-night Christmas Markets cruise departing December 3 2010, followed by a 35-night Caribbean cruise on December 6 and a 42-night Amazon and Orinoco cruise on January 10.

There will also be cruises to Amsterdam, Iberia, the Baltic and Norwegian Fjords. Prices start from £159 per person cruise-only for a two-night mini-voyage to Amsterdam on April 4, 2011.

Ocean Countess will be sailing a four-night Christmas Markets cruise on December 16 2010, and a 14-night Christmas cruise to the Canary Islands and Madeira on December 20. The ship will also be offering two 30-night cruises to the Caribbean, on January 3 and February 2011, with departures from either Tilbury or Falmouth.

During summer, Ocean Countess will be cruising from Hull and Newcastle.
