Youtravel.com is ending its card processing agreement with E-Clear to move its payment facilities to Barclays before the end of the month. The accommodation-only provider was a client of E-Clear, the firm accused of withholding money from failed Scottish airline and operator Globespan. Youtravel.com group managing director Graham Nichols confirmed the move would be made “as soon as possible.” E-Clear began delaying payments to youtravel.com last February and ceased making payments in December. Youtravel.com founder John Kent told travelweekly.co.uk the current debt with E-Clear stands at £150,000 and at one point last summer it was £250,000
Nichols added: “We would like it [the £150,000] back but it is not going to have a significant impact on our business, which has a turnover of £110 million.”
