Costa Cruises is to offer a world cruise from Savona in Italy on its new 2,260-passenger Costa Deliziosa next year. The 99-night cruise will depart on December 28 2011 and is being sold either in its entirety or in three segments – 29 nights from Savona to Los Angeles, 38 nights from Los Angeles to Singapore or 31 nights from Singapore to Savona. Prices start from £9,989 per person cruise-only for the full 99-night voyage including unlimited drinks served by the glass during lunch and dinner and a package of five excursions. Sectors cost from £3,689 per person cruise-only for the 29-night cruise from Savona to Los Angeles, or 31-night voyage from Singapore to Savona, also including drinks at mealtimes and five excursions. The world cruise features in Costa’s 2011 programme, to be previewed tomorrow to more than 1,800 top-selling agents on a four-night ‘Champions of the Sea’ pre-inaugural cruise from Venice to Savona on Costa Deliziosa. About 40 ‘champions’ are from the UK. The brochure also features new seven-night Red Sea cruises from Sharm el-Sheikh on Costa Marina and Costa Allegra from November 2010 to March 2011. The itineraries include two full days in Sharm el-Sheikh at the start of the cruise and also visit Al Adabiyah and Safaga in Egypt, Aqaba in Jordan and Eilat in Israel. Prices start from £989 per person including flights and transfers. There are four 13 and 14-night repositioning cruises from Italy to Sharm el-Sheikh and back with flycruise prices from £1,349 per person. Costa Cruises UK managing director Marco Rosa said the world cruise and Red Sea itineraries are part of the cruiseline’s ongoing strategy to open new markets as its fleet continues to grow. It started cruising in Dubai and the Far East in winter 2006/07. For winter 2011/12, Costa Luminosa and Costa Deliziosa will based in the emirate, as they are now, and there will be two ships – Costa Romantica and Costa Classica – in the Far East. Costa took delivery of the Costa Deliziosa in Venice on Saturday. It will sail from Savona with paying passengers on February 5, on a 20-night inaugural cruise to Dubai, where it will be named on February 23. Two more new ships, Costa Favolosa and Costa Fascinosa, are due for delivery in summer 2011 and spring 2012 respectively.
