Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts will open three properties in the Maldives and two in Sri Lanka.
The brand is pressing ahead with plans for the properties in Sri Lanka despite the recent Easter Sunday bombings, which resulted in UK tour operators having to cease selling holidays to the destination under new advice from the Foreign Office.
Located on the south coast of Sri Lanka, OZEN by Atmosphere at Tangalle, due to open in 2021, will comprise 37 villas and five private residences.
Also in 2021, OBLU Select at Tangalle will open with 118 rooms and suites.
It will be the first time the hotel group has opened properties in Sri Lanka.
Atmosphere is expanding its portfolio in the Maldives with the three-star OBLU X, opening in 2020 in the Malé Atoll. It will be Atmosphere’s largest property with 350 villas and suites.
A new four-star OBLU property is also due to open in 2020 in the Baa Atoll and will comprise 220 villas and suites.
Atmosphere previously announced it will open a resort this October called VARU in the Malé Atoll in the Maldives featuring 108 luxury villas with 39 Beach Front Villas and 69 Overwater Villas.
