TICKET agency Applause has set up a new sales structure in a move to become more pro-active with the trade.
Led by sales and operations director John Wales, four new on-the-road sales managers will visit operators with 17 staff taking calls at its London offices.
“Before I joined the company in June, I carried out my own research and concluded that ticket agencies waited for business rather than created it,” said Wales. “We now have a team of sales managers who are dedicated to the trade so each client will know who to call.
“They also told us they want to deal with experienced people so everyone in the team has an average of six years’ experience.”
The on-the-road sales team will assess the needs of operators and deal with problems face to face, he added.
Wales said the new structure will help achieve its target growth of 25% in the next eight months.
