Royal Caribbean to sail 10 ships in Europe in 2011

Royal Caribbean will operate 10 ships in Europe in summer 2011, up from the eight which are sailing this year.

The 2011 deployment will be Royal Caribbean’s largest in the Baltic and Mediterranean, with Liberty of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas sailing their maiden seasons from Barcelona and Palma respectively.

Independence of the Seas will continue to sail year-round from Southampton.

Royal Caribbean’s 2011 brochure is divided into sections covering short breaks, traditional 14-night summer holidays, northern Europe and winter sun. Early-booking offers of up to £500 are available until June 30.

Mark Walter, head of field sales for Royal Caribbean International, said: “With new ships in the region homeporting for the first time in popular traditional holiday destinations such as Malaga and Palma de Mallorca, we are confident that our mix of itineraries and onboard experiences will appeal to every type of holidaymaker.”

The majority of 2011 cruises and cruise tours are now on sale.
