The Global Travel Group is offering its members more training opportunities following the success of its package travel regulations (PTR) training events and “Global Gatherings” this year.
New package travel regulations were introduced on July 1 last year. The consortium has run three PTR sessions so far this year at Leeds, Warwick and Bristol and is planning at least another three before the end of the year.
Darren Bond, head of sales and business development at Global Travel Group said: “We are urging members to contact us if there is any particular training they feel they need because we want everyone to feel equipped to be able to perform at their absolute best.
“This could be anything from making sure their members are aware of legislation, learning how to navigate a crisis situation, knowing the best techniques to match client needs with the right product, and sales tips like overcoming objections and closing the sale.”
He said that feedback from PTR training so far had revealed a “notable improvement” in confidence from members involved in dynamic packaging, while Global Gatherings were boosting camaraderie across the membership.
Global Gatherings allow agents to come together to brainstorm ideas, discuss market conditions and help each other by sharing knowledge and experience.
Global Travel Group has increased the ‘Gathering’ sessions from 6 to 16 in 2019. The next event will take place on June 11, in Templepatrick, Northern Ireland.
