Ticket sales for domestic airline Flybe are up 16% on the same period last year, the airline has reported. The carrier said load factors are topping 90% on routes with Good Friday set to be one of the busiest days of the year. Sales were boosted after announcing last week that it was increasing frequency and availability during next week threatened rail strikes, which were due to start on April 6 until the High Court agreed an injunction. The rail routes expected to be have been disrupted were proving particularly popular with Birmingham to Edinburgh, for example, up 31% on the four days post Easter last year. And the airline also revealed strong sales for its London to Newquay service.
