Monarch Airlines has reported an 87% load factor for March, up 4% on the same period last year.
The improvement was driven by flights to the Canary Islands of Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife carrying 86,000 passengers, a 51% increase on March 2009.
Larnaca has also proved popular with a 13% increase for the same periods as 13,000 customers flew to the destination.
Monarch Flights and Holidays managing director Tim Jeans said: “We are delighted to have recorded a load factor of 87% during March, which demonstrates the loyalty of our customer base who chose to fly with us time and time again.
“We continue to see strong demand for our mid-haul flights to the Canary Islands and Cyprus, once again proving they are a firm favourite with customers.”
