Police search for Althams robber

Police investigating an armed robbery at Althams travel agency in Colne, Lancashire, have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.

A man entered the shop at 4.40pm on Saturday, March 20, jumped over the counter and threatened staff with a screwdriver.

He then forced the three agents, one of whom was heavily pregnant, into the back of the shop and made them open the safe.

The robber got away with about €7,500, £2,500 in cash and £7,000 in blank travellers’ cheques.

The man was described as white, slim, in his mid to late 40s, with a wrinkled face and bulging eyes with dark circles around them.

He was unshaven, with grey stubble, and was wearing a black coat, dark jeans, boots, a dark hat and a fluorescent vest under his coat.
