Two British toddlers have been found dead in a hotel room in Lloret de Mar, according to Spanish police.

Reports say that Catalan police were called to the Hotel Miramar in the Costa Brava coastal resort at 1pm BST and are investigating the scene.

Newspaper El Mundo’s website suggests the children’s mother had called the police, but they were unable to revive the children.

The cause of death is as yet unknown and the mother has reportedly been arrested.
