Royal Caribbean Cruises has promoted Michael Bayley to executive vice president, giving him responsibility for the strategic development of its three brands Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises.
Formerly senior vice president, Bayley was responsible for the International sales, marketing and commercial operations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Richard Fain, Chairman and chief executive of Royal Caribbean Cruises said: “Over the past three years, Michael has successfully spearheaded our aggressive expansion efforts into emerging and high-growth markets. We have seen significant international growth under his leadership and look forward to continuing to develop this segment of the business.”
Bayley serves on the Board of TUI Cruises AG, the German joint venture between Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and TUI, Germany and is an executive committee member of the European Cruise Council.
He previously served as senior vice president, hotel operations for Royal Caribbean International, where he oversaw the worldwide hotel operations and onboard revenue for the cruise line.
Prior to that, he was chairman and managing director of Island Cruises, a joint venture between Royal Caribbean Cruises and First Choice Holidays.
