Holland America Line reveals 2011 sailings

Details of Holland America Line’s full programme of 2011 sailings have been released to agents at a brochure launch on board the ship Eurodam in Dover.

The 2011 Worldwide Cruise Holidays programme confirms the line’s expanded presence from the UK with three ships running 11 ex-UK departures next summer.

Nine of the cruises depart from Dover on board the ships Eurodam and Ryndam while 835-passenger Prinsendam will offer two cruises from Tilbury to northern Europe.

This represents the first full season of dedicated round-trip UK cruises by the premium line.

The 1,266-passenger Ryndam will start with a 20-night Mediterranean cruise from Dover on May 1, 2011, followed by a series of seven-night Baltic and fjords sailings.

The 2,104-passenger Eurodam is being deployed on 12-night Baltic and Norwegian fjords itineraries and a 17-night Greenland and Newfoundland transatlantic cruise which ends in New York on September 10.

Early booking fares start at £869 per person for a seven-night Ryndam cruise, representing a discount of up to 35% on published brochure rates.

The overall programme includes more than 125 itineraries covering Alaska, the Amazon, Asia & Pacific, Canada & New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Bermuda, Hawaii, Tahiti, Mexico, the Panama Canal and South America.

As many as seven ships will sail in Europe in summer 2011 with Eurodam, Prinsendam, Ryndam and Rotterdam offering primarily Northern Europe and Baltic cruises.

Noordam and the new Nieuw Amsterdam will run seven and 12-night Mediterranean itineraries from Rome (Civitavecchia), Barcelona and Venice.
Maasdam will recreate its annual 35-night “Voyage of the Vikings” cruise from Boston, which combines a circle around Iceland with calls in Newfoundland, Greenland and the UK.

Prinsendam and Rotterdam will offer Eastern Mediterranean, Holy Land and Black Sea cruises from Piraeus (Athens) in the autumn.

Prices start at £499 cruise-only for a seven-night eastern Caribbean itinerary.

The line claims that UK sales for its 2011 cruises are up by 86% year on year, prior to the full brochure launch, but declined to give figures.

UK and Ireland managing director Lynn Narraway said: “We’ve already seen a sharp increase in early bookings for high revenue destinations such as South America and Australia and the early launch of our 2011 ex-UK programme has seen a very healthy start to next summer bookings at our value for money early booking prices.”
