Ace 2010: Du Ponant releases first UK winter brochure

French luxury cruise company Compagnie du Ponant has released its first dedicated winter brochure for the UK.

The company is using the UK Cruise Convention as an opportunity to showcase new ship Le Boreal to agents.

The new 132-cabin vessel is calling into Southampton, venue for the convention, on Saturday.

UK sales director Claire Hancer said 145 agents would go on board for an exclusive show around.

She is then hosting 18 niche luxury cruise agents and operators on a three-night trip on the mega yacht between Hamburg and Copenhagen on July 1-4.

Travel Weekly is the official trade media partner of the UK Cruise Convention 2010The 96 page 2010-11 brochure covers cruises until April next year. The line then introduces Le Boreal’s sister vessel, L’Austral in May 2011.

The winter programme covers destinations in Asia, the Middle East, South America, Antarctica and the Mediterranean. A price guide in sterling is included in the brochure with cruise-only prices starting at £1,590 (pounds) per person for six nights in central America in January.

Hancer said: “Our ships don’t come to the UK often so the opportunity for agents to see Le Boreal is a one-off timed to coincide with the Cruise Convention.”
