Cunard Line boss Peter Shanks takes over as chairman of the Passenger Shipping Association today.
He succeeds Lars Olsson of Stena Line, who becomes vice chairman of the cruise and ferry industry body.
Shanks, president and managing director of Cunard, becomes the 18th PSA chairman. He steps up from being chairman of the PSA’s cruise section, a position that will be taken by NCL UK general manager Stephen Park.
“The PSA represents 42 different cruise lines and 14 ferry companies and I look forward to building on the excellent work already undertaken in promoting travel by sea, which is an integral part of the UK economy and leisure industry,” said Shanks.
