Cruise & Maritime to avoid lates discounting

Cruise & Maritime Voyages is again unlikely to introduce last-minute discounting for its second year of operations.

A 2011 preview brochure covers 63 cruises including the introduction of departures from Dublin.

Sales manager Michelle Daniels said: “Our programme, offering a traditional cruising experience from ports around Britain with no flying involved, has made it easier for agents to sell.

“For 2011 we have kept our great value brochure price policy, avoiding confusion with higher prices and early booking discounts.”

The line, which operates the ships Marco Polo and Ocean Countess, will offer a coach connection from Belfast for ex-Dublin sailings.

Departures are from seven ports, with additional sailings in 2011 from Hull, Newcastle and Leith.

New cruises include British Isles in Bloom, Nordic Cities, Wartime Memories, Fjords & Fairytales, Mediterranean Odyssey and a Pilgrimage cruise from Dublin.

There are more short cruises to visit the Dutch bulbfields, Christmas markets and European cities.

Longer voyages cover the Caribbean, Amazon and Orinoco, the Land of the Northern Lights and Midnight Sun, Norwegian Fjords and Spitzbergen, Baltic and St Petersburg, Iceland and Northern Isles, the Mediterranean and Canary Islands.

Prices start at £159 per person for a two night-cruise to Amsterdam and £399pp for a five-night Fjords cruise.
