Endacott makes call-centre move

Walt Disney’s in-house UKtour operation is to sell its product through a new Manchester-based call centre set up by former Carlson Companies vice-president e-commerce Steve Endacott.

Agents phoning through to the call centre will be dealt with by a team of Endacott’s staff specially trained in the Disney product.

UK director Andrew Waller said: “Our choice was to either start a reservation service with 10 people in an office in London, or use a call centre. We thought it would be better to be part of a large operation where there will be a dedicated team of people and a capability to deal with an overflow of calls.”

The call centre will take calls from both agents and the public.

Endacott left his position with Carlson in the US after only six months as his family could not settle there. He was unavailable for comment.
