Celebrity Cruises announces return Down Under

Celebrity Cruises is returning to Australia and New Zealand in 2011/12 for the first time in two years with new series of cruises on Celebrity Century.

The new itineraries replace a previously announced series of 12-night Caribbean cruises from Baltimore.

The 1,814-passenger ship will instead run ten itineraries from six departure ports, including Sydney and Perth (Fremantle); Auckland; Honolulu; San Diego; and Ensenada, Mexico.

A total of 36 ports in six countries are covered – Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, French Polynesia, the US and Mexico.

The programme begins on October 2, 2011, with two consecutive 15-night Hawaii sailings from San Diego, followed by a 10 night Hawaii cruise from Ensenada to Honolulu.

An 18-night “Pacific Jewels” voyage departs Honolulu on November 11, followed by five 12- and 13-night New Zealand cruises between Sydney and Auckland, including a Christmas departure from Sydney on December 24.

Passengers can combine two 18-night sailings – one sailing around the southern portion of Australia and New Zealand’s fjordland and the other cruising around Australia’s northern coast to Bali.

New ports of call include Geraldton, Broome, Darwin, Cairns, Brisbane, Adelaide, Albany, Bunbury, Perth, Burnie in Tasmania and Bali.

A range of shore excursion packages are to be unveiled on July 29 when bookings open and details of early booking incentives will be provided.

Celebrity Cruises’ president and chief executive Dan Hanrahan said: “This marks a significant expansion of Celebrity Cruises’ diverse array of global holiday options.

“We’re thrilled to return to Australia and New Zealand. It’s a region our guests and trade partners around the world have said they wanted to experience again with Celebrity Cruises.”
