Costa Cruises’ Magica to make UK debut

Costa Cruises is to debut departures from the UK next summer with a series of 11 cruises.

The Italian line is bringing the 2,718-passenger ship Costa Magica to Britain with three departures from Harwich and eight from Dover.

The 11-night itineraries will cover seven European capital cities – Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Oslo and Edinburgh. Prices start at £1,019 per person.

The first departure is scheduled for May 29 from Harwich. Cruises will sail from Dover on June 8, 18 and 28; July 8, 18 and 28 and August 7 and 17. The final cruises of the season will depart from Harwich on August 27 and September 6.

The six year old ship will call at Le Havre, with excursions to Paris; Dover; Amsterdam; Hamburg, with trips to Berlin; Copenhagen; Oslo and Edinburgh.

On three cruises the port of call at Edinburgh will be replaced by a stopover in the Scottish harbour of Invergordon, the seaway to Loch Ness and the Highlands.

UK, Ireland, Scandinavia & South Africa area director Marco Rosa said the itinerary had been created to allow passengers to visit seven top European short break destinations in one voyage.
