Eilat hit by rocket attack

The Israeli resort of Eilat has come under fire from a rocket attack.


No casualties were reported  as several blasts hit the southern Israeli city, which is a popular tourist destination.


Between three and five explosions were heard in Eilat, according to Israeli army radio reports.


One rocket also hit the nearby Jordanian port of Aqaba, injuring four people.


Jordan’s interior minister Nayef Qadai told the AFP news agency: “A Grad rocket fell in the street in Aqaba, near to the Intercontinental hotel, destroying two cars and injuring four people, one of them seriously.”


Israeli army radio said one rocket had also landed in the sea.
