Mexicana suspends Gatwick flights

Mexicana has suspended flights from Gatwick to Mexico City from today after entering bankruptcy protection last week.

The Mexican carrier had previously said it would maintain services. Mexicana’s next flight from Gatwick was due to depart on Wednesday, with further flights on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

The last flight into Gatwick returned to Mexico City on Sunday. Passengers due to fly with on Mexicana over the coming days will be rebooked on other airlines.

Both passengers and travel agents with clients booked on the airline should phone the Mexicana hotline – 0808 101 7600.

Mexicana is a member of the Oneworld airline alliance which includes British Airways and passengers will most likely be booked with a partner carrier.
