Nine Sun4U agents join Blue Sea Holidays

Blue Sea Holidays has snapped up nine homeworkers who lost their jobs when Sun4U collapsed.

The move represents a big jump in numbers for the agency, increasing its sales team to 16, but sales manager Andy Brewer believes it is a great move for the business and the staff involved, who are all based in Benidorm.

“We contacted one of them quickly after we heard the news and asked for CVs from anyone interested in working for us,” he said.

“After interviewing, there were nine suitable and they are coming to Majorca for 24 hours to train tomorrow and should be up and running by next week.

“Even five years ago the technology wasn’t available to do this, but now it doesn’t matter where the homeworkers are – we have them in the UK, Majorca and now Benidorm.

“It is really difficult and costly to find good staff so even if only half of these new recruits work out for us I’ll be really pleased, and they all seem delighted to be joining us.”

Blue Sea Holidays, which is a member of Hays Independence Group, has been receiving more calls than it could handle over the summer.

But Brewer said the additional staff would enable it to increase its presence on the likes of Teletext, Icelolly and Travelzoo to generate more calls.
