Flights to Budapest are to be introduced by budget carrier Jet2.com from Edinburgh airport in time for next summer.
The service is to start on April 21, 2011, with fares leading in at £29.99 one-way including taxes.
The announcement comes prior to the launch of new easyJet services from the Scottish airport this winter to Basel, Cologne and Paphos and Ryanair flights to Fuerteventura and Gothenberg.
The airport’s managing director Kevin Brown said: “We have been working hard with our airline partners to increase Edinburgh’s connections with European capitals.
“Budapest has been a target for a long time and I’m delighted that Jet2.com has created this route. Budapest is a leading destination and I’m sure it will prove extremely popular with Scottish travellers.”
