Sportsworld scores Rugby World Cup deal

Sportsworld has struck a deal to market and sell official corporate hospitality packages for next year’s Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

The TUI Travel-owned company has operated official programmes for corporate clients and sponsors at every Olympic Games since Los Angeles in 1984 and has handled guests at the last ten football and rugby world cups.

The new arrangement enables the UK-based company to offer a range of ticket inclusive hospitality packages. These include individual match packages and packages following a specific team, as well as arrangements based in a certain venue or for the final round.

The Rugby World Cup, claimed to be the third largest sporting event in the world, consists of 48 matches over six weeks between September 10 and October 22 2011.

The Tournament will be played in 13 venues across the north and south islands of New Zealand. Hospitality package prices start at NZD $745 per person (around £340).

Sportsworld business development manager Jeremy Goodwin said: “New Zealand 2011 is the sixth consecutive Rugby World Cup at which Sportsworld has operated an official programme.

“We’re expecting strong demand via our Australian office for tournament duration packages whereas we believe the UK market will focus on attending standout group matches plus quarter-finals through to final.”
